How do I create a shortcut to the solar-charging function of Peblar on my phone?

Peblar uses a web interface instead of a traditional app. All functionalities are accessible through this interface: from viewing charging sessions to setting charging strategies, such as solar charging. That last feature – solar charging – is especially interesting for users who want to charge their EV using solar energy. However, typing in the charger’s IP address every time you want to make a quick change isn’t very practical. Fortunately, you can add a convenient shortcut to your phone, giving you instant access to the interface with just one tap – just like a regular app.

This is not only usefull for an installer during maintenance, but also ideal for the end user!

Why solar charging?

Peblar offers three solar charging modes: pure, smart, and fast solar.

  • Pure solar uses only solar power when there is sufficient energy available. Great for reducing your energy bill, but charging may stop when sunlight is low.
  • Smart solar supplements the solar energy with grid power, so your charging session continues even during fluctuating sunlight.
  • Fast solar works differently: as soon as there is surplus power, the charger switches to full capacity to quickly charge your EV.

Solar charging is therefore not only sustainable, but also intelligently tailored to your energy usage and solar availability.

How to add the shortcut to your phone:

For iOS (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Open Safari on your iPhone.
  2. Enter the IP address of the Peblar charger (e.g. 192.168.0.100) to open the web interface.
  3. Tap the ‘Share’ button at the bottom (square with an upward arrow).
  4. Select ‘Add to Home Screen’.
  5. Optionally give it a recognizable name, like Peblar Charger, and tap 'Add'.
  6. You’ll now find an icon on your home screen that directly opens the Peblar interface.

For Android

  1. Open Chrome on your phone.
  2. Navigate to the IP address of the Peblar charger.
  3. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
  4. Select ‘Add to Home screen’.
  5. Name it and confirm.
  6. It will also appear as an app icon on your screen.
