HD Solar had always worked with three panel brands, but when one of them stopped offering their premium panels, the search for the right alternative began. They found it in the brand AIKO. Libra Energy spoke with Ronald Menke about the AIKO solar panels, his positive experiences with the brand, and customer feedback.
What are the most important core values of AIKO?
Pursuing advanced technology
AIKO Solar’s revolutionary N-Type All Back Contact (ABC) cells mark a breakthrough in silver-free metallization. The advanced design enables energy generation across the full cell surface and uses c-Si technology for high-efficiency electricity production at atomic level. With all contacts on the rear side, the panel avoids front-side metal grids, reducing breakage risk and improving durability. It captures 100% of sunlight and offers strong resistance to light degradation and mechanical stress.
Rethinking photovoltaic efficiency and aesthetics
AIKO has a strong track record in cell production and has earned several awards and certifications for its PERC and bifacial cells. In 2021 it became the global leader in cell shipments, and that same year it launched its N-Type ABC technology. The fully black design with a black anodized frame and rear busbar makes these panels especially popular for homes. They use monocrystalline silicon cells with 3.2 mm tempered glass and an anti-reflective coating, reaching efficiencies above 24% and power outputs up to 450 Wp.
