Zaptec’s Power Line Communication (PLC) module uses the local power network to establish an internet connection with the charging station. The ZAP-ZB100055 effectively creates a wired internet connection out of the local power network, so there is no need to run network cabling to each charger. Each Zaptec PLC communication module can support up to 30 charging stations. At least one PLC module is required for each power circuit. Mount the Zaptec PLC communication module on a DIN rail, making sure to use only the connection terminals marked L1-N-PE.

Although the quality of the connection will depend on the network type, the number of chargers and the noise from the grid, we recommend installing the PLC module as close as possible to the charging station to get the best signal. This is because the distance to the charging station can affect the signal strength. The maximum cable length is 90 metres. The Zaptec PLC module comes with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.
